Denzyl Downing

Hello, I’m Denzyl. I’m a member of Academy's class of 2020. This is my first year as a Student Ambassador. I am also a member of the varsity football and basketball teams.

I've been a student at Academy at the Lakes for 11 years and have loved every moment. Academy has a warm, welcoming community feel. The teachers truly care about the students and are there for you when you need them.

As I begin my freshman year, I am ready to take on the challenges of high school. I feel confident that Academy at the Lakes will prepare me for a good college.

My favorite Academy traditions are the retreats and the extended trips because they give students the opportunity to bond with their classmates. They also give new students the chance to feel more comfortable and make new friends.
