"When you feel like quitting, think about why you started."

My name is DeOnshe' Moore. A little voice country girl from Plymouth North Carolina. Getting this far in life, and hopefully any further in God's willing, has been a challenge. After high school, I pictured myself finishing college and all my other goals with a breeze. Then BOOM! That's when reality slapped me right out of my dream. COLLEGE IS HARD. It's way harder then finding something to wear for a really big party on a Friday night. From going broke, to seeing close friends drop like flies, to even failing grades, I always thought about quitting. See, back at home, it would've been WAY better. The reason why was because my support system stayed on me. Most people see it as a "Thank the Lord" break from all the strictness in their household, but me, I wish I had that here. When things don't go right, it just pulls me closer and closer to the thought of just dropping out of college. One week, I just stopped going to classes because I felt like I couldn't do it anymore. Nothing was going right. Not the grades, progression in class, teacher student relationship, just nothing. Until one day, I reflected this big poster I made a long time ago with my goals and aspirations on there. Then that's when I heard her. I heard my mama cussing me out in my head about letting myself give up that easily. After I looked backed on everything I had gone through, to this point on up in my life, I was mad at myself. Mad that I had lost all faith in everything I worked so hard for. After that moment, everything from here on out has been going really good. Keeping my eyes on the prize and also keeping the faith and patience in everything I do has really helped. I refuse to get that low again. The message I'm trying to convey is, never give up. You got this far for a reason, so if you get any further, you may reach the point to where everything you stressed and worried over may lead you to a very successful lifestyle.
