After 16 years of faithful service to the Marine Corps, it was time to go out into the "real world" and make a living. The Marine Corps had been my only profession my entire adult life so it was a new experience for me. It was time to face the real world and I decided it was going to be on my terms.

I started planning and wrote down my 1 year, 5 year, and 10 year goals that I wanted to achieve. I didn't want to live on a paycheck working for other people the rest of my life with possibilities of getting laid off. I wanted to own a business and have something to pass down to my children. I wanted to be free to take days off when I wanted to without asking permission. I wanted the power to choose and be in control everyday of life and have complete autonomy.

A wise man once said "Profits are better than wages".
