After completing a high school typing course in 1980, I attended a Wang dedicated word processing certificate course which opened a career utilizing multiple software applications to include Wordperfect and Lotus 123 across a DOS platform. This was the Pre Windows era when character based systems ruled the world. After being introduced to Windows 3.1, 95, ME, 98 and NT 4.0, in 1998 at Brookhaven College in Dallas, Texas, I attended a year long MCSE (Microsoft Certified System Engineer) certification course. I passed the MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) exams in 1999 and began on my road towards a career in computer networking. I worked with servers, routers, windows 2000, XP, Vista, and 7 as well as Linux and Solaris Unix. After working for major corporations providing technical support for companies like HP, Earthlink, and PerotSystems I began studying for Cisco router and hardware certifications like A+.
