Derek Lance

Derek Lance is a freshman at The University of Tennessee-Knoxville planning on graduating in May of 2016 with a B.S. in Kinesiology from the university's College of Education, Health, and Human Services. Lance currently has a 3.93 GPA and achieved the honor of being selected to the Dean's List in his first semester. In addition to obtaining a quality education, Lance is also a member of the varsity, Division-I baseball team.

With Lance's background in sports, he plans on pursuing a job in sports medicine specifically orthopaedic surgery. Lance carries extensive experience in sports having played baseball, conducted baseball camps, and trained children in strength and conditioning exercises. The passion he has for sports can be seen in his everyday life.

Having grown up in the presence of the hospital world through time spent at The University of Tennessee Medical Center has also provided Lance with a vast familiarity of medicine. Attending numerous medical conferences designed to recruit doctors allowed Lance the ability to be around many medical professionals. The experience of spending time with doctors provided Lance with his passion for medicine.
