Derek Roche
Griffith Ontario (1.5 hours west of Ottawa)
Derek Roche was born in Toronto, grew up in Montreal and went on to earn a BA in Philosophy at St. Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick, and an MA in International Development Studies at Carleton University in Ottawa. Although interested in the healing arts from a young age, it was not until working in health care projects with the United Nations Development Program in Latin America that Derek decided to make alternative healing his life’s work. After considerable thought and research, Derek left the United Nations after three years to return to school and study Traditional Chinese Medicine in Great Britain. Derek graduated at the top of his class and was Valedictorian at graduation. While in England, Derek also studied a new ground breaking body/energy work called Zero Balancing (ZB).
In 1995, Derek returned to Canada with his wife and three children to work first in Halifax, for three years, then in Ottawa for fourteen years. He was the first to practice ZB in Canada and also became the first NAET (allergy elimination technique) practitioner in Ottawa. After twelve successful years as co-owner and practitioner at the popular, alternative health clinic, The Sunrise Health Centre in Ottawa, Derek is now running Natural Healing Retreats on a private lake in the Ottawa Valley near Griffith, Ontario.
