Derek Engelstad

Energy executive Derek Engelstad began preparing for his career as a student at the University of Missouri Science and Technology, where he earned a bachelor of science in chemical engineering with magna cum laude honors. After graduating, he worked for ExxonMobil as a production and facilities engineer on Alaska’s North Slope and Chad development projects. Derek Engelstad went on to serve on the ExxonMobil Development Company’s Chad Satellites Project, developing his financial and executive skills while managing the $1B capital budget.

At present, Derek Engelstad works as vice president production of the Houston, Texas-based energy firm Wapiti Energy, LLC. As leader of production operations, he coordinates with office and field staff to safely enhance efficiency and production thru development and execution of a robust plan and budget.
