I love to write. I am highly empathic. And I am passionate about helping nonprofits help those most in need. What does empathy have to do with writing for good causes?

Everything!

Empathy is the ability to place oneself in another person's shoes or situation. In my experience, effective fundraising communications - whether a grant, case statement, annual report, direct mail appeal, email marketing piece, social media strategy, acknowledgement letter, Op-Ed, etc. - they all require great storytelling, and the ability to meticulously choose each word to place the reader in the shoes of the clients you serve.

I have a broad range of talents and experiences that have shaped my current world view, including: performed on Broadway; lost six family members to cancer; raised millions of dollars for nonprofits; and successfully lobbied legislators and passed a law in CA to protect kids from online predators. I've done a lot.
