Deric Rothe
NAs Executive Editor and General Manager of the Auburn Journal and Gold Country Media, Deric Rothe has earned praise for his journalistic abilities. He has received awards from the California Newspaper Publishers Association, the Society of Better Newspapers, and Brehm Communications Inc. in response to his articles, editorials, literacy promotion, newspaper design, and more. A resident of Auburn, California, Deric Rothe contributes to the daily Auburn Journal, which reports on the city’s local news, sports, education, business, politics, and crime. The paper also offers a classified section where residents can post homes for sale, job openings, and available cars being sold. Since joining the staff of the Auburn Journal in 1997, Deric Rothe has taken on a prominent role in the community. He belongs to the Auburn Rotary Club and participates in Protect American River Canyons, an educational group that promotes environmental preservation. Deric Rothe also attends the Auburn Chamber of Commerce State of the Community Dinner, a gathering of community members during which the Auburn Business of the Year and the McCann Awards are presented.
