Brooklyn-born Robert Anthony DeRosa is an urban landscape photographer. In 2009 he retired as a Senior Vice President of a multinational financial services firm and returned to school at the age of 61 to study for a Masters Degree in Digital Photography at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. He graduated in 2010 receiving the Paula Rhodes Award for Excellence.

While still in school, he was named a finalist in PDN’s Photo Annual Competition for his series “Winter Light: Coney Island” and the work was published in PDN’s May 2010 Photo Annual edition. Subsequently his work has been published in “Photoshop User” and “Mormon Artist” which featured his photographs on the front and back covers along with a 9 page in depth interview. Selected photographs have also been published in the 3 edition of “Real World Digital Photography”.

Since his graduation in late 2010, his work has been exhibited in two juried exhibitions at the powerHouse Arena, “Capture Brooklyn” and “Provocation” as well as two group shows “Optic Nerve” and “The Exhibition Lab Exhibition” which was recently on view at the Foley Galley in Chelsea. He was awarded First Place in the FIne Art category of the 2011 APA Awards international competition and His work can be seen in the "Something Personal" Juried exhibition opening December 8th in San Francisco.

Robert’s work around the city has been featured on the television station NY1 and recently a prominent Brooklyn blog highlighted his examination of the polluted past and uncertain future of the Gowanus Canal – a superfund cleanup site in South Brooklyn
