Derrick Cain

My name is Derrick Cain, and I am 14 and attend Washington High School. This upcoming year, I will be involved in the STEM program taking robotics, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics classes. I will also be attending Raising Expectations, an after school program that I have attended for 4 years, where the mentors and staff help with homework and prepare us for life after high school.

My hobbies include playing basketball and video games. When I play basketball, it calms me down when I get upset. I also play video games with my friends. I am good at thinking outside of the box including inventing new things or improving existing things. I am also good at creating and designing indoor and outdoor activities.

My current goals are to excel in my grades and in improving my behavior. I want to complete these goals because I want to work on becoming a better student and person. When I grow up, I want to be in the Air Force, like my big cousin, or be a veterinarian, to be able to work with a lot of different types of animals.
