Ambitious, witty and mission-driven, my life revolves around story telling. As a Black Woman apart of Spelman's class of 2018, I understand the need for accurate representation in mainstream media for African-American's, especially women.
I want to be the representation I never saw as a child.
Spelman helped me find my voice as a writer and I aim to use that voice to tell the stories of those often erased by mainstream medium. Through the use of different mediums, journalistic articles, screen plays and digital media, I aim to create stories that celebrate, produce and promote authentic Black narratives.
I am currently building my skill set through working with companies like Families Empowered, the Spelman College Music Department, Blavity, Affinity Magazine, and the Maroon Tiger to develop my writing and communications skills. I aim to combine my knowledge and experience in these areas, to create and tell stories that accurately depict African-American narratives and culture.
