Web Developer, Designer, and Community Organizer in Minneapolis, Minnesota
I have a confession to make — I get really bored doing just one thing and have an obsession with having my hands in multiple disciplines. I have a bit of a renaissance complex — I'm a web and user interface designer, musician and singer/songwriter, a beer brewer, and photographer. I like to be busy!
I'm a web and UI designer/developer by trade for over 20 years now. I work for the State of Minnesota and have served clients both large and small — from the MN Governor's office, to UnitedHealth Group, to smaller companies and firms like Current Electric Systems. I've designed a wide variety of websites and presently am a Senior Interface Designer and Developer for our State's Web Content Management System on SDL Tridion.
I've been homebrewing for ten years now, am a former member of the Saint Paul Homebrewers Club and the American Homebrewers Association. I have also won a few awards for my beers, including third place for my Oktoberfest at the Minnesota State Fair and second place for my stout and American IPA at other competitions. While I don't have immediate plans to change careers, I am entertaining the idea of changing careers and moving into the brewing industry.
I've been a musician and singer/songwriter for about 25 years now and have been in a variety of bands over the years and as a long-standing solo artist under the pseudonym "Michael Miles". I've put a lot of time and energy into other projects, including a solo project called AUTURGY as well as a band I fronted ten years back called Crash Effect. Be sure to check out my videos on YouTube — I think you'll like them.
