Desiree Fraser

Tallahassee, Florida

Desiree Fraser hails from Florida's Space Coast. The second of three children, she was born in Chesapeake, VA in September 1988 to a career Naval Officer, now retired from service, and his home-maker wife. Ms. Fraser became accustomed to moving every three or four years whenever her father was assigned to a different duty station. She quickly learned to adapt to the changes and challenges of finding a new home, enrolling in new schools, and making new friends. Her travels have allowed her to enjoy the cultures of many overseas locations such as the Philippines, Korea, Japan, Okinawa, Guam, Wake Island, and others. She has also traveled throughout the U.S, including the states of Hawaii and Alaska.

Ms. Fraser attended elementary school in Jacksonville, FL; middle school in Pensacola, FL; and high school in Melbourne, FL. She graduated, with Honors, from Melbourne High School in May 2007 with a 3.7 GPA. While attending Melbourne High School, Ms. Fraser was a member of the Interact Club, a community service club associated with Habitat for Humanity and various other service organizations. She served as club Secretary (2005-2006), and Vice President (2006-2007), directing club involvement in Toys-For-Tots, Care Packages for Troops, and other collection/donation projects for needy families. She also attended the annual RYLA conference, a Youth leadership conference sponsored by the Rotary Club.

In 2007 she came to Florida State University as Pre-engineering student where she hoped to specialize in Civil Engineering. However she decided to switch her major to Information Technology, where she found her true passion and graduated in the summer of 2013.

Ms. Fraser has been involved in both intramural and extracurricular sports for many years. While in high school she was a member Varsity Soccer team and the Track and Field Team. She also played competitive Soccer for years with the Three Lions Soccer Club in Melbourne. Prior to moving to the Melbourne area, she played on the Pensacola Futbol Club's competitive soccer teams and was on the club's U-13 girls State Champions' Team in 2001. She is also a member of FSU's co-ed intramural soccer team.

While at Florida State, she interned for 8 months at Diverse Computing, Inc, where she was hired on full time after graduating. She is now a Systems Consultant, specializing in Tech Support, project management, and programming.
