Desiree Coleman

St. Louis, Missouri

Desiree Coleman is a knowledgeable human services professional with executive-level experience in youth programs, federal grants management, national non-profit partnerships, Mayoral initiatives and school-based programs. She worked as the Senior Manager for Education and Workforce Development at the DC Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services before relocating to St. Louis and joining United Way.

She is passionate about uplifting communities and has spent her career advocating for the needs of underserved youth. She is leveraging her current experiences in fundraising to advance that mission.

With a penchant for all things international, Desiree counts her overseas volunteer projects working with youth among the most rewarding experiences of her life. She taught work readiness courses in South Africa, led a sports camp in Cambodia & conducted youth development workshops in Guyana through her church.

Desiree is a published author and in her spare time, she enjoys writing and freelancing about healthy relationships. She is the creator of www.thelovejourney.com and has been featured in a variety of publications.

Desiree is also a wife, mother and a woman deeply committed to her faith.
