Desiree Samone

Detroit native, Desiree Samone, thrives in the arts; she is a singer, actress, and playwright.

Her first professional break as a playwright (post college) happened to take place just an hour south of the Georgia capital, in Columbus Georgia.

There, she was presented the opportunity to re-work and expand on her college thesis show "A Love Supreme" the show was mounted by The Chattahoochee Shakespeare Theatre Company, headed by her good friend Troy Heard.

She is currently working at the Atlanta Botanical Garden as Member Services Coordinator (The Day Job), but she keeps busy in her process to establish herself as working theater artist, having written over 10 shows 4 of which, are ready to be read (AND PRODUCED), along with being an actress and singer in this talent filled city, she is destined to make her mark.

She has completed the 3rd draft of her full length show "The Law of Lois"(working title), a comedy about a mothers thirst for perfection in her family life. The show was originally developed at Atlanta's Horizon Theatre Company, during a nine-month program she participated in as a Playwright apprentice.

Also while at Horizon she also developed a one act play, entitled "Sea of Forgiveness" where a couple struggling to maintain their marriage learns the ways of love through unusual methods.

While Desiree is submitting her work to local and national theater companies and playwriting competitions, she will always stay busy as she has done free-lance journalism for the New Orleans based magazine "Zwei" producing 8 articles on today’s top INDE Artists, from Music to Design.

Desiree has also dabbled in background vocal music work for the hip hop group A Moment and can be heard on their latest self-titled release, available now on iTunes.

More recently Samone does voice over work for the Sim Daddy Productions show titled "The Stroll" and will also be apart of their next web series titled "The Real Housewives of Sunset Valley".
