Desirey Wester

I always knew I wanted to be an artist since I was very young, however it wasn’t until I was in my first commercial arts class where my professor had suggested that I should pursue a career as a graphic designer. I knew this would be a challenge as I am visually impaired, yet I have persisted through a second level commercial arts class and then went on to graduate from two colleges where I earned a BFA, AA and Certificate in digital and web design.

As I learned, I grew and I challenged myself and I always persisted to be my best throughout my academic and professional career. I also learned a lot about myself and which specialization within the design industry I would like to partake in: packaging, print, stationery, signage and branding. Currently, I am a volunteer designer for a local women's club and a freelance graphic designer. I previously worked as a graphic design / marketing intern at Brighton.
