Desmond Carter

Born and raised in Canada, I was educated at Queen's University in Kingston, where I wrote for The Queen's Journal and served as Editor-in-Chief of Syndicus magazine. Following this I progressed from editorial intern to a writer, researcher and proofreader at St. Joseph Media, Canada's largest privately owned consumer magazine publisher.

After completing a Masters in Management at the University of Edinburgh Business School in Scotland, I moved to London, England and joined University College London Hospitals, a world-leading centre for research, teaching and healthcare delivery. I presently work in a project management role on a telehealth venture that uses technology to improve patient care and reduce clinical and costs pressures.

My interests include social innovation, entrepreneurship, corporate strategy in SMEs, and healthcare management.

In addition, I have been involved with several non-profits and charities over the years, including the Lance Armstrong Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Keep A Child Alive.
