Matthew Desmond

Hi, my name is Matt Desmond and I am a graduate of Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In the Fall of 2012, I graduated double majoring in Broadcast Production and Broadcast On-Camera. During my enrollment at Point Park University I have worked with various TV stations around the Pittsburgh area. I held the position of High School Playbook Sideline Reporter at WTAE-TV crafting my on-air capabilities for their website usage. ISM-USA then presented myself and a select group of students an opportunity to showcase our skills on ROOT Sports to create a 30 minute feature on the EQT Basketball Classic, where I was a camera operator and co-producer. Furthermore, I completed an internship with KDKA-TV and upon completion I started my journalistic career at KDKA-TV as an associate producer with freelance photography and production assistant duties in their sports creative services department. I currently work as a video production assistant for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, the Advanced A Affiliate of the Texas Rangers. The journey throughout my professional career has taught me hard work, determination, and being a team player the task at hand can be completed successfully.

I take great pride in my work and have learned along the way to get to the point of where I am today. I am very passionate in human interest stories that interact with the sports world. A variety of skills sets go into human interest stories as I am able to display my skills of videography, editing, and on-air talents all in one piece.
