Desmon Walker

Orlando, FL

From performance and production to Arts Administration, Desmon Walker's colorful career in entertainment spans for over 2 decades. Desmon's love of entertainment began in 3rd grade when she landed the lead role in her elementary school play "A Christmas Carol". Since that time, she has had the opportunity to perform for, and under the direction of, such notable industry talents as Hollywood actor Brock Peters, Broadway playwright Tom Zeigler, and Broadway actress and director Elizabeth Van Dyke. Over the years, Desmon added television, radio, print, film, and later directing and producing to her entertainment vitae. Following several consecutive weeks of sold-out houses for Shay Youngblood's play "Shakin' the Mess Outta Misery" (Miami, Florida), Desmon accepted an invitation to direct the Miami Arena's production of "From the Porch" starring Danny Glover.

As an Arts Administrator at Miami-Dade County's Division of Arts and Culture, Desmon moved rapidly through the ranks from Cultural Coordinator at the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center, to Division Marketing and Media Liaison, to Managing Director of the Women's History Gallery (the country's only park and facility dedicated to women's history) within a period of 3 years. While maintaining her day job, Desmon continued to pursue her love of performance and was awarded the coveted Carbonell Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her role as Aida in the Actors' Playhouse production of the popular Broadway musical with the same name.

Desmon holds a Masters Degree in Entertainment Business from one of the country's premier institutions for entertainment studies - Full Sail University.

With a goal to produce engaging entertainment that empowers and educates, she is Founder & CEO of Mastermind Motivation.
