Desta Mateen is an entrepreneur, marketer, and former journalist with a background in journalism, digital media, and business development. She earned her degree in Journalism/Communications from SUNY Oneonta and previously worked with The Daily Star, The Scripps Network, and Tribune Interactive at the Orlando Sentinel.

After transitioning from journalism into digital marketing and search engine optimization, Desta built experience in branding, online visibility, and local business growth.

In addition to business and marketing, Desta has a passion for advocacy, media ethics, and helping communities recover after hardship. Through nonprofit and community-focused initiatives, she has supported hurricane recovery efforts and awareness surrounding the long-term impact of digital publishing and online identity.
