John Lucassian

I'm the descendant of Armenian immigrants from Iran and Russia, English Immigrants from Birmingham, and possibly some Irish and Dutch or German. My ancestors came to Detroit in the 1930’s, 1940’s and 1950’s. Named after both my Grandfather’s, John and Carroll, I was born in 1970 and raised in all over Metro Detroit. I graduated from L’anse Cruese High School in Harrison Township, Michigan in 1988 and continued my education at Macomb Community College where I received an Associate’s degree in Computer Sciences in 1994. I also took a number of Art classes while at Macomb and became particularly enamored with Photography. I worked in the Information Services Industry after college for Automotive, Healthcare and financial institutions and still do today. However in 2003, I incorporated a side business in photographic services and opened a studio in 2005. I also founded the Metro Detroit Photography Club in December of 2003 as a place where I could share my passion for photography with other like-minded people. Since becoming 2003, I have shot weddings, events, jewelry, food, products, architecture and more, but my calling has turned out to be Fashion and Glamour photography. I’ve been consistently rated highly and have traveled to some places I would never have been if not for my camera. My work has been published in print and on the Internet. I am proudly a father of 2 bright and wonderful children who amaze me at every turn. I continue to seek the interesting experiences in life. My goal is to lead a life worth writing about, looking back on later and a legacy to leave for my children. I do not seek a drama-free life as I know there must be drama in a life of creativity, travel, learning, love, lust and adventure!
