Devansh Mathur is an award-winning filmmaker and co-founder of Floating Tiger Films, with a background in direction and cinematography. A graduate of Srishti School of Design and Prague Film School, Devansh’s work spans critically acclaimed documentaries, short films, and branded content.
He began his filmmaking journey early - at age 9 - with Birds Through My Window, which won the Golden Tree Award at the Vatavaran Film Festival (2003). Since then, his films have been recognized globally. In 2008, he was invited to the Global Peace Summit ‘Three Dot Dash’ in New York.
His 2016 short Gotya was the only Indian film selected at the Filmed by Bike Festival (Ohio) and now streams on Disney+ Hotstar. His documentary Uprooted has screened at over 15 international festivals, including Respect Belfast, Auroville, and Stories Lived. Imaging the Unimaginable (2021) was shortlisted for Sony Asia Pacific’s World of Film competition in 2022.
Devansh’s fiction debut Marham Rao was selected for the Journey to Europe Script Lab by the European Union Film Festival, in partnership with DIFF and Cineuropa. His short Alternism, about a science student choosing to live among a remote tribal community, has screened at major festivals including Dharamshala, JIFF, Flickfair, and Royal Stag Barrel Select.
Most recently, Devansh co-directed JJI Exile Brothers (2025), a powerful documentary selected as one of ten international projects at DocEdge New Zealand 2025. The project was awarded both the Alexandra Johnes Prize (USA) and the Elemental Legal / The Doc Catcher Prize (New Zealand).
Devansh is currently developing two original web series for major OTT platforms and continues to push the boundaries of storytelling through Ai and cinematic filmmaking.
