Devasena Pasupuleti

I was born in Tirupati, India but grew up and spent most of my childhood in Malaysia. I'm currently a PhD scholar (Doctoral) at the ISHIGURO Lab, Osaka University, Japan. My major is in Systems Science and Applied Informatics, at the Department of Systems Innovation. My research involves working with the physical and virtual morphologies of the CommU social robot and young children, studying their levels of confidence and self-esteem. I also teach programming languages such as Python and Scratch, and English language, at Kinocode, Esaka, Japan, to elementary and high school children. Having graduated as a Robotics Masters student from Amrita University. I worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Amrita University and as a Research Intern at Ammachi Labs, India.

My research interests range from social robots and human robot interaction to flora and animal conservation that I'm passionate about. I seek to find ways to apply robotics to device solutions for various communities and for children in need. It's my desire that I can also apply my technical skills to support the cause of protecting our planet's species. I am a certified RASA Developer, an avid gamer, and have designed games involving robots. In the past, I have worked on projects to design conversational AI systems, autonomous social robots to help children in rural India to improve their hand hygiene practises, gesture controlled mobile robots and conveyor systems.

Dance and music are integral to my life and I am a live stage performer of Indian classical and freestyle dance forms, and Indian and western classical vocals. In my free time I like to create and tinker robots. I am also currently exploring the Art x Technology dimension with robots in the field of dance and music.
