What is Net Neutrality? This is a concept in which internet service providers (ISPs) have to treat all data equally without blocking or controlling what is available. This would mean that an ISP like Comcast or Verizon would not be able to slow down your internet on certain sites or block any content or websites that you want to use.

We have been a part of net neutrality for a a long time; this is what keeps the internet free and open. It preserves our right to communicate freely online.

If net neutrality was to end, anyone who uses the internet will be affected. ISPs will then be able to control what happens on the web, competition between companies will escalate and become extremely aggressive, platforms for activists to fight different issues will slowly deteriorate and prices to share the same online experience we have today may increase because ISPs will block certain content and charge extra to use certain services.

Today, net neutrality is deeply threatened as on December 14th, 2017 the FCC's republican majority approved Chairman Ajit Pai's plan to end anything protecting Net Neutrality. The freedom and quality of internet we currently have is at risk but it is not the end. If society works together, we can push for a positive outcome. There may be a long fight ahead but it is not over yet.

The date for #NetNeutrality to die is closes April 23. We just need #OnemoreVote from any senator to save it. #SaveTheInternet
