Hi, I’m Devin Woodward and I am from Woodstock, Georgia. I currently live in Athens and attend the University of Georgia. Throughout my entire life I have always loved sports. Whether that is me playing, watching, or even coaching occasionally. I have always loved being in a competitive environment and sports have allowed me to do that. Throughout my entire life I have played basketball, football, and even soccer, but the one that stuck with me for the longest was baseball. I played through my senior year of high school and opportunities to continue past that but decided against it. Even outside of playing I love watching baseball as well. Because of my older brother, I grew up a massive Atlanta Braves fan. I watch almost every Braves game throughout the regular season and will watch every playoff game no matter what. Also, in my free time I will watch any other Major League Baseball game. My love for watching the sport also continues into the college baseball world. I watch the UGA baseball team play whenever I can. I watched their run in Omaha this last season and am hoping they can make another deep run. I have also looked to spread whatever baseball knowledge I can. Over the last 2 springs and summers, I have helped coach a youth travel team out of Marietta. Doing it has allowed me to continue to be around the sport that I love and that is what has brought me back. Doing the coaching process too has allowed me to look back on my playing career from a different perspective. Viewing the game from a different perspective has shown me mental lapses that I did not realize I was having. Even though I am no longer a baseball player anymore, I have not lost any love for the game and will likely forever stay a Braves and UGA baseball fan.
