When I think about the people who matter most to me in life, I think about my parents, who have given me everything I could possibly need to be where I am today. They have given me all the love and support I need to do anything I want to do. I think about my best friends and how much they have driven me to become everything I am. My name is Devon. I love to sing more than anything. When I was little, I would sing in the bathtub, and at school, and on camera, and just about anywhere else you could possibly think of. In my mind I was the 6th Spice girl. I'd run around with my plastic microphone, and my blue platform shoes. I'd jump on the trampoline, and I'd yell all the words to every song. Then I got a bit older, I realized that I could play around with the microphone on my computer. I would sit in my room for hours, singing and playing back my own voice, and it was around that time, I knew all that I wanted to do was sing. I bugged my parents about enrolling me in lessons, until they finally caved! Now it's all I want to do.
I grew up in a musical family. My dad picked up and taught himself to play guitar starting at the age of 7. He was always in a band, and my mother grew up playing the flute, the saxaphone, the clarient, and the organ, so it's definetly in my blood. I took guitar lessons at school, and I liked it for a while, but then I learned how to play a few simple chords on the piano and ended up playing and singing at my school's year end concert. (With tons of pressure from my guitar teacher, who wouldn't let up until I agreed.) It went so well, and it was probably one of the most exhilerating experiences I've ever had, because that was my voice that 700 people were listening too. It was a great way to end my senior year. Ever since that night, I've wanted to perform. There's nothing I'd rather do.
I love Gaga, Christina Perri, Maroon 5, a whole lotta Chris Brown, Florence and the Machine, and a whole lotta T-Sweezy! (Cause there ain't no party like a T-swift party y'all!)
