Devon Wolfe is a sophomore at Byram Hills High School. Devonis a leader among her peers and has been selected by her teachers to sit on the Byram Hills/University of Michigan Emotional Wellness Advisory Committee, the only high school-college partnership in the country. The goal of the club is to raise awareness and break down the stigma associated with mental health as well as to place an emphasis on the value of learning rather than the value of a good grade.
In school Devon considers herself a math and science student, studying the role of epigenetics in depression in addition to tutoring younger students in math, science and computer programing under a program that places a great emphasis on STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
When not in school, Devon loves to play tennis and paint! She uses charcoal, oil, acrylic and pastel but oil is her favorite!
This summer she plans to attend a Design Thinking course at Stanford in addition to an internship at an R & D company that focuses on building and commercializing renewable plastics.
