Dezmond's disciplined and systematic approach to problem solving began in high school, where he focused primarily on leadership development as an outstanding cadet of Southside High School's AFJROTC program, receiving the nationally recognized Tuskeegee Airmen Award in 2010, named for the prestigious Tuskeegee Airmen Incorporated. In 2011, he was promoted to the rank of Cadet Chief Master Sergeant, receiving accolades on both the local and national level, and was named an officer of the National Summer Leadership Academy held at Mercer University. He was also an orator for Southside High School's nationally acclaimed Speech and Debate Team lead by Erickson Bynum.
Starting March 2014, Dezmond will be participating as a cohort of the Year Up program, a non-profit organization (501c) featured on 60 minutes founded by CEO and Wall Street veteran, Gerald Chertavian.
