I don't really know what to say about myself. I could start out generic and tell you where I was born (Alaska, by the way - but I was raised in the Southeast most of my life - weird, right?), or I could tell you about where I live now, and what I do. But that kind of takes away the purpose of me blogging. Seemingly important, yet overall mundane details will be revealed in due time. After all, I don't want you taking one look and thinking, "Gee, well, I'm definitely not interested in hearing about your fucking cat and your day job as a technical writer all upfront."

(But, really, my cat is pretty damn awesome.)

I like to write. I've spent a good portion of my life thus far just putting things on paper (or in a word processor) and working through it until it feels right. I'm not officially published yet, but maybe one day I will be. This blog is the big step I'm taking toward getting my words out in the open. I figured it'd be a better motivational tool, so when I do get published one day, I will be able to tell my fourth grade self being a complete loser was worth it when time travel is invented.

I came up with the name of this blog because, to put it frankly, I like monsters. I grew up finding monsters and creatures more interesting than most people. In fact, I started thinking as a kid that it'd be more fun to be a monster than the things other kids wanted to be. So, Monster Mumbles is exactly how it sounds--the flabberghasted, sarcastic, sometimes amusing, sometimes irate, caffeine-induced, IHOP booth philosophical mumblings of a self-proclaimed modern monster.

So, in short--chow down, fellow beasties, and enjoy reading.
