David Gray

It may be challenging to narrow myself down to a few sentences, but this is my attempt. My name is David James Gray. I've lived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana since I was 10 years old, and I consider it my home. I 'm studying broadcast journalism at Louisiana State University. My goal is to become a respected sports journalist. However, I'm not simply narrowing down my future to one dream job. Something I've learned in life is that life doesn't always care about what our goals are. Sometimes things happen that we have no control over, and it's how we respond in those moments that determines the quality of life we will have. Yes, I will continue to give everything I have to becoming a journalist. I've had a 4.0 GPA since I put my goals on paper over two years ago, and I don't anticipate that changing. But life may have something different in store for me. I may ultimately realize my dream of being a sports journalist or I may not. What's most important to me is having a life that I can one day look back on and be proud of. To have that would require more than simply writing about sports, although that would help. What matters to me most is being a great son, husband, father, brother, and friend. If I'm able to be those things, I know everything else will fall into place.
