“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.”

Hi there! I'm Don, and I was named after my Grandfather on my Mom's side. He unfortunately passed away from a brain aneurism before I was born. For a time I went by Donny, but when I got a little older, I came to the conclusion that it was an honor that I had been given my Grandfather's name; he had been such a great man. So I decided that it was best to keep the name just the way it had originally been passed down to me.
I am a proud husband and father of two. I met my wife, Juliane, while on a mission trip to Brazil; she was working as our translator. We have been married for six years now! Boy how time flys when you're having fun! Our children, Ryan (2 1/2) and Annalise (10 mo), are very sweet, and certainly keep things interesting! I thank the Lord all the time for blessing me with such an amazing family; I wouldn't trade them for the world!
I was raised mostly in the Tulsa area, attending Broken Arrow schools until my sophomore year. My family then moved to Cushing because of my dad's job, and after a difficult transition, I can say I'm glad for the experience and proud to be a CHS graduate. In college, I originally studied music as a trumpet player while on scholarship at Oklahoma Baptist University, but I eventually transitioned into multimedia. I started with video production and then web design soon after. I've been working in multimedia for over ten years now, and have learned a lot along the way. Some things I've learned from classes and internships, while a lot I've learned just by studying on my own. I've worked for large construction companies, oil companies, an international law firm, churches and many others. My previous position before starting to teach full-time was working as the multimedia technician for Central Tech in their marketing department.
Now in my fifth year of teaching, I'm enjoying it more than ever. I have the best students, and they've proven it by taking top honors at state and national contests year after year. I keep my skills sharp by continuing to do work on the side with my company Eighth Note Media Solutions. Besides my CareerTech teaching certification, I hold current Adobe CS6 certifications in Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and Dreamweaver. To my students this year, multimedia is an exciting field, and I'm looking forward to sharing my passion and experience with you. Carpe diem!
