Dahlene Holliness is a native signer of American Sign Language and knowledgeable about Deaf culture . She has a passion for sharing her experiences with hearing communities. She was exposed to American Sign Language and Deaf culture due to growing up as a Child of Deaf Adults (CODA) and sibling to two deaf brothers. American Sign Language was a primary method of communication. Dahlene holds a Masters of Education degree and an American Sign Language credential. She has worked in various fields such as a sign language interpreter, counselor for the deaf and for the past several years as an educator for deaf and hearing students in K-12 and community college settings. Dahlene believes at an early age children should have the opportunity to experience diverse languages and cultures to foster awareness and develop bilingual abilities.
