Di was born in Armenia, Colombia on October 19th, 1984. At the young age of 7 he started following his father across Europe, discovering the world around him. He was introduced to a variety of artistic styles and cultures and his early memories of going to galleries and museums, with a camera in hand, peaked Di's interest in photography.
Di returned to Colombia in 2000 to finish high school and enrolled in the Journalism program at Quindio University. It was during this time that his passion for the enigmatic world around him ignited and led him to borrow his uncle's 35mm camera. In the midst of his studies, Di was invited to attend a product workshop in Bogota. His excitement for fashion and portrait photography landed him at The Zone 5 School, where he attended workshops and honed his photography skills. Inspired by the works of famous and masterful photographers, Di realized the potential of photography to reflect true beauty and ugly realities. After working with a variety of talented photographers in Bogota, Di decided to define his own style to reflect his own views; less is more, as simple is chic.
Di's interest in culture has brought him to Toronto where he has worked with different publication including Latidos Magazine, Metro Newspaper and feature on the Globe and Mail. Di also worked as the resident photographer at The Broken Heel Diaries, exploring a variety of visual medias with fashion and commercial work. Di, as people call him, continues to explore his love and passion of music & photography.
