GAUCHO ACT - MILTON&GALA

Milton and Gala represent an extraordinary number that mixes precision, movement and music - the number of the BOLEADORAS. Milton dominates the virtuosity and the technicality of the dance of the Gauchos, close to Gala his representation is definitively stylized and modern.The Gauchos are like cowboys, but they are from South America. They live in the Pampas of Argentina, Uruguay and South of Brazil.

The Boleadoras (Bolas) are small balls fixed to the end of a rope. In the Pampas of Argentina, South of Brazil and Uruguay the gauchos were using them traditionally as weapon to hunt to the cattle. Later they were introduced in the folklore dances of the Gauchos as percussion instrument and also they have a visual very strong impact.

·Milton and Gala are holders of the title Guinness World Record two times.

The Record consist in to remove of the mouth of Gala all the petals of the roses with the bolas (boleadoras) in 2 minutes .

·Holders of Guinness World Record in Rome, Italy on 28 of March, 2012 - Milton removed of the mouth of Gala all the petals of 18 roses with the bolas in 2 minutes.

·Holders of New Guinness World Record in Beijing, China, on 6 of September, 2013 - Milton removed of the mouth of Gala all the petals of 35 roses with the bolas in 2 minutes!!!

·Milton and Gala with their "Gaucho" spectacle (45min) inspired by the culture of the gauchoes, it gains the prize of the public in the Festival (FAST) of Torredembarra (2009), Spain.

·Milton gained the first prize in the International Festival Eisteddfod in Johannesburg, South Africa (1993)

· Biography

Milton Manica is a gaucho artist of South of Brazil who began his artistic career in 1987 (12 years of age) when he made début as principal boleador of a house of spectacles in Porto Alegre, "Galpao Crioulo" (1987-2000).In the year 2000 motivated for growing and to enlarge his artistic development he came to Europe.

Gala Georgieva is from Bulgaria. She finished the National School of Dance in Sofia(1988-1997) and she continued with the studies of " Popular Bulgarian Choreography " in the "Academy of Musical Arts, Dance and plastic Arts " (1997-2001).

In the year 2003, in Catalonia Milton and Gala decided to follow his artistic way together and like that was born dance company Diablos de la Pampa.
