I'm the girl with coffee in hand you pass by just because she doesn't wear Prada, Gucci or Cavalli, but glasses and no Jimmy Choo high-heels either. I'm the girl you most probably run into in the hallway of a tall office building, notebook in hand, wires hanging and mouse wrapped around her neck like a scarf. Not geeky enough to code rocket apps at NASA, but geeky enough to be called IT Specialist.
I started out as a blogger when blogging was the fad, right after crossing the Millenium. Back in 2000, The Cluetrain Manifesto was the talk of the web, and everyone seemed to be hooked on writing. A few years and four blogs later, I had the guts to jump off at Blogging Station and jump on the Twitter-wagon.
By the end of 2007, I had hosted a first Geek Dinner and a few other meetups, putting Romania on the Twitter map with help from a few famous Twitterati, such as Hugh MacLeod (Gapingvoid.com)
Beginning of 2008, I quit my job as Web Content Editor at Green Pixel to join a startup which eventually proved to be the first big fail. Shaking off this episode, at the end of same year, I went higher up one notch and joined Republika Interactive's Online PR team.
By February 2009, however, I suddenly realized my time in the online industry had come to a halt. In need to figure out something else, I began specializing in English-to-Romanian interpreting (up until now).
Took me two more years to accept a different challenge and join the Customer Care team at Global Remote Services in Bucharest (Romania), including Italian into my daily routine. Three years and three months later, I'm working in the same field as part of Stefanini's IT Specialists team in Sibiu, same country.
End of 2014, I put on a different hat, refreshed my blog and decided to post more frequently, because I believe I still got something to say. In 2015, I want to impact the young generation, give them the necessary tools to have their voice heard across the Globe and empower them to live a life of purpose.
