Writer in Boston, MA

I am a Pilipinx- Puerto Rican woman that is deeply interested in writing cultural criticism and personal essays that delve into the psychological effects that structural inequalities (such as capitalism, racism, colonialism, etc.) have on the individual. I graduated from Brown University with degrees in Creative Nonfiction Writing and Ethnic Studies. I have always been involved with grassroots Pilipinx groups, and organizing has always been the thing that keeps me going. I am a queer woman, who has, above all, always found solace from isolation in the media I found a way to see myself in, whether the representation was overtly there or not. I used stories as a way to find myself when there was no where else for me to go.
