My name is John DiCarlo, and I've spent my whole life wanting to be a writer. The problem was that before the age of 60 I did nothing about it. Not because I was waiting to retire with a fat pension to indulge my boyhood dreams. No. If only that were true! The truth is that after watching my ex wife die of cancer, I knew that nothing would ever feel the same again.

Now I write daily - fiction and non fiction. Sometimes I think I write in my sleep, but maybe I'm only dreaming. To say that every day is a gift must be one of the world’s most overused platitudes. I prefer to see each day as a challenge; one that we shirk at our peril. My personal challenge for each day is to become a better writer. Wherever I am - London, Texas or Thailand - the challenge stays the same. Success often arrives at the end of many small steps rather than one giant leap.
