Teacher and Realtor in Irving, Texas

Back my campaign

A resident of the Valley Ranch area of Irving, Texas, I continue to strive in the education sector, as a student and teacher, and serve my community in many capacities. I received both my bachelors and masters degrees from Fort Hays State University, in Hays, KS. I have worked faithfully in Texas schools since 1999, teaching and driving a school bus. I have ran for school board in two different school districts, Midlothian ISD and Dallas ISD, and was the first known Black/Biracial to ever run for Midlothian ISD school board. I also belong to one of the largest teacher unions in the nation, and advocate for children and staff: I do not mutely stand by when it comes to one's education.

I have been nominated "Who's Who" two different times, and voted Employee of the Month in 2002 at Castleberry ISD, being featured in the the River Oaks newspaper. I have also been Employee of the Month in 2009 in Midlothian ISD, Staff of the Week in 2013 in Dallas ISD, and Teacher of the Year candidate 2020 at Inspired Vision Elementary Charter School.

I am also a realtor/apartment locator for the entire state of Texas. In addition to the housing industry, I am also a Texas licensed mediator, mortgage field inspector, and notary public. I hold other licenses and certifications such as TABC, TABC instructor, Food Handler and First Aid/CPR certification. I a member of the SAL (Sons of American Legion) and TAM (Texas Association of Mediators), and one of the few documented members of TAM in the entire city of Irving. Furthermore, I was part of the Nielsen Ratings for 7 months and a big time lover of tv and music.

Having a big heart for others, I am a strong believer and follower of God, and have been a previous member of the Burning Bush Missionary Baptist Church in Fayetteville, NC; Cockrell Hill Baptist Church and CitiChurch of Dallas, as well as a previous volunteer of the Beautiful Feet Ministries Homeless Church of Fort Worth, TX.

Being born in Dallas, TX, a product of mixed-marriage post-segregation, I come from a strong family of hard-working Texas farmers, military men and women, teachers, and business owners. I am one of the few in my family to ever attend college, and the only one to initiate a doctoral degree.

Now, a beginning author and prominent writer, I have submitted my very first article for publication to Ezine @rticles.
