I like to describe myself with the following acronym -- T.E.A
Technologist. I am a technologist by nature, having earned my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in 2002, Masters of Science in Telecommunications in 2004, and currently pursuing my Doctorate in Data Science. With that said, I consider myself an extremely active student of technology, intimately tied to the bleeding edge of today's cloud technology and its trends.
Engineer. As an engineer, I lead the assembly of extensive amounts of code into working applications and update and fix problems in existing software. I am hands-on with conceiving, communicating, specifying, designing, building, testing, and maintaining software/application systems. I believe that an overall way to look at engineering, regardless of discipline, is that there is no guessing...your work is accomplished with knowledge and intent.
Architect. As an architecture, I can develop a holistic view and see "the bigger picture" to understand how the software system works. Being an architect is a role NOT a rank - it is an evolutionary process where one gradually gains the experience and confidence that one needs to undertake the role. There is a level of involvement, influence, leadership, and responsibility that one must demonstrate across several areas.
