It's A Wonderful Thing To Call What You Absolutely Love To Do Work!!

Being at the right place at the right time but having no idea you are--life really does happen to you while you are busy doing something else. And by the time you discover it, you're on a world wind adventure.

MY BEGINNING

Became a temporary employee in Dallas, Texas when the business world discovered the viability of the staffing industry. That year, the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex had over 10,000 corporate headquarters--ranked number one in having the largest corporate headquarter concentration in the United States. And because of the popular beliefs and misconceptions about the staffing, the demand for highly skilled professionals far outweighed the supply.

When the floor fell out from under the financial institutions in Texas, things began moving unbelievably fast! That downfall lead to a series of industry downfalls like a true domino effect.

Temporary employees were in great demand, so I needed to get a better understanding about the industry and my role in it. Searched libraries and bookstores throughout the Dallas/Ft. Worth's Metroplex --not one book written on either topic.

What I saw taking place between the business world and staffing industry was too great an opportunity to pass up.

Decided to create the resources myself. Initiated research of staffing industry without industry experts to consult, a research team, core support staff, or corporate/philanthropic funding. Used money earned working on assignments to finance research.

Research Outcomes -

Incorporating research findings into my workstyle enabled me to become one of the most in demand staffing employees, which my employers' clients began requesting by name; and when unavailable they said they'd rather do without an employee. My employers began asking, "Diedra, What are you doing on assignment that our other employees are not doing?" If only we could clone you."

Proved research hypothesis wrong:

The staffing industry is not a viable industry, Careers and business goals cannot be created, pursued, or achieved by means of the staffing industry.

Assignment bookings advanced from 1 wk to 6 mo to 1 year. Advanced from Exec. Assist. to Administrative Mgt. placing staffing employees on assignment to Corporate level positions such as Director, District Developer over a five state territory.
