Diego F. Maya
Consultant, Director, and Filmmaker in Princeton, New Jersey
Graduating with honors from Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey helped me realize I was able to achieve what most see as the impossible. After five years of living undecided of whether to pursue a college education I made something out of a life that was destined for mediocracy - a college degree and an achievement award sent me to a world of opportunities.
Early in my career, I worked for technology companies as a Software Programmer creating interactive voice response systems as well as web applications in conjunction with multimedia.
I wanted to work for me so I became the founder of the first ever Spanish Yellow Pages, Hablamos Español in Central New Jersey, printing over 30,000 copies yearly. Utilizing technology as a means to drive down costs, my company's competitiveness drove down advertising prices, quickly establishing sales relationships with Fortune 500 companies, Comcast and AOL Latino in the early 2000's.
Aside from editing and printing the Spanish Yellow Pages, I also began producing audiovisual projects, and worked in New Jersey and New York's 1-800-Demanda campaign where I directed television commercials for the largest Hispanic law firm in the United States – Garces & Grabler, airing in Telemundo 47 and Unvision 41.
My work has led me to become a multimedia strategist and a business administrator with eighteen solid years of experience in marketing, corporate digital media, print advertising sales and editing, multimedia directing and internet web broadcasts focusing in Latino Markets.
