Courtney Diener-Stokes is an award-winning journalist, author, freelance writer, photographer and food stylist for the Southeastern Pennsylvania region.
She is the co-author of the “Kimberton Whole Foods Cookbook: A Family History with Recipes” (Hickory Grove Publishing), a collection of seasonal recipes and narratives, showcasing the local growers and makers behind its recipes. She also co-authored “Farmhouse Manna: Nourishing Recipes and Rituals for Head, Heart, Hands & Soul” (Hickory Grove Publishing), a cookbook and home life guide.
Currently the food editor at County Lines magazine, her writing on local farmers, artisans, land conservation and country living has also appeared in Berks Country. She serves as a health and wellness writer for the Pottstown Mercury, Reading Eagle, Daily Local and other MediaNews Group publications.
Her freelance portfolio includes work with development, marketing and communications teams to create branded content for digital and print. She has also worked in publishing as an editorial project manager.
Courtney returned to live in her hometown of Oley, Pennsylvania after spending over a decade working in New York City in film and television as a producer at ABC News and MTV Networks. While at ABC she was a producer for “Good Morning America" where she worked on several major news stories, including coverage of the 9/11 World Trade Center Attack, for which she received an Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia Award, a George Foster Peabody Award and recognition from The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
She is a graduate of Parsons School of Design in New York City and Paris. Today, she lives in the Oley Valley countryside of Pennsylvania with her husband, three children, a pair of Babydoll Southdown sheep and a flock of bantam hens.
