Steffi Dietz - Artist
performance artist and singer in Germany
Dear one,
I am Steffi Dietz, an artist venturing through the scope of life.
I completed my bachelor’s degree at the University of Montreal in Voice Performance. There I portrayed Suor Dolcina in Suor Angelica's production. Also, I performed Schubert’s work as a soloist with the university chorus. My debut role was the Contessa from the opera Le Nozze di Figaro in Montreal (2011).
After living in Austria (2015), I joined the Kapellsbergs Opera Studio in Sweden. My participation in the Härnösand Opera Academy and Festival 2016, points out a finest potential as Violetta Valery. Where I sang extracts from La Traviata and Die Fledermaus (Rosalinda).
With the Kapellsberg Opera Studio, I have participated in many concerts, opera productions, masterclasses, collaboration with renoms artists, and even a tour in Finland.
The global event of 2020 has shaken the entire world as so of my view of my discipline and industry. Therefore, I redefined myself as a performance Artist, where my singing voice and acting skills are no longer definite to the classical repertoire but open to genres that elevate any project.
In 2021, I made my debut on the German scene as a singing Actress under the Staatsschauspiel Dresden - Bürgerbühne. In collaboration with the composer Matthias Herrmann, I was given Carte Blanche for my scene during the production ASPHALT. The German Theater scene is a new arc to my competencies.
In conclusion, I am a refined artist who is always ready to challenge my perspectives to bring the best in performance. I have lived in six different countries. I have met the challenge of reconstructing myself over and over again through languages, and different living spaces, as for touching the discomfort of my identity. I am an advocate of authenticity and this has completely punctuated my life path.
Hence my presence on stage, set or in collaboration is significant and is a pledge of successful endeavours.
Truly,
Steffi Dietz
