The langue franca of the new millennium does have a place in traditional counseling practice; what it needs is an ethical code of conduct to unify this field. With so many competing practitioners and digital mediums to try and filter through, it is only through the establishment of DATA that all these various cultures of digitalism and healing can come together in cooperation to thrive. The Digital Arts Therapy Association (DATA) will provide its membership with a quarterly online newsletter, trainings, a yearly conference, and an online presence for continued tending of the fire. Through these elements the world of digital arts and therapy with be able to communicate intermodally towards the ultimate goal of providing a higher quality experience to those we serve.
