If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be and why?
My superpower would be to cause everyone I meet to experience a profound sense of love, peace and happiness. Why--because love is the greatest power of all.
I call myself a Tech Guru, not so much because that is what I am, but because that is what I aspire to be. Anyway, I believe that we are what we think ourselves to be on a micro level. "I thnik therefore I am. . . . " and ultimately, what I aspire to be, informs my choices. . . . .setting me down an inevitable path of success or destruction.
My background image is a photo that I took of the hand-plow used by my Great Grandfather, A.C. Hamlin, on his Guthrie, Oklahoma farm, at the turn of the 20th century. A.C. was an educator and the first African-American elected official in the State of Oklahoma. In 1908, one year after the founding of the State, he was elected to the State Senate to represent Logan Country (1908-1910). He lost his re-election bid as a direct result of an amendment to the State Constitution, that was meant to severly restrict and repress the voting by his primary constituents.
I chose the image of the plow, not only for the beauty of its symentry, but to remind myself of the old fashioned value for hard work that A.C. embodied, and the truism, as I sow, so shall I reap.
