Rebecca DiMonte

I grew up in Barrington, IL my whole life and recently graduated from Barrington High School in 2011. I am now attending the University of Illinois. As a sophomore, I am studying Elementary Education with a concentration in math. I have fallen in love with being a Fighting Illini and am looking forward to spending the next couple of years there.

I was blessed in 2011 to have been named a Golden Apple Scholar. Not only have they given me the privelege to build a supportive community, but also have enriched my knowledge of the teacher profession so that I can be the best teacher I can be. I have absolutely fallen in love with the teaching profession and can not wait to have my own classroom someday. In the future I would love to teach 6th grade math. I have been working in a middle school for two summers now and love the age group.

Besides teaching, I also have other hobbies. One of my biggest hobbies is photography. I love to capture the moments in life that people wish they could live forever in and bring them to life. I also love to hang out with family and friends whenever I get the chance.
