Dr Dinah Parums attended grammar school in Derbyshire and won an entrance scholarship to study Medicine at King's College, Cambridge in 1977. She did her clinical medicine training at Oxford University Medical School from 1980 to 1983.
Dinah returned to Cambridge University to do her PhD in Pathology from 1984 to 1987, being awarded a Junior Research Fellowship from the British Heart Foundation and a Research Fellowship from Darwin College, Cambridge.
Dinah did her higher specialist training in Histopathology as a Clinical Lecturer and then as Clinical Tutor in Pathology in Oxford. She became a Consultant and Senior Lecturer at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, Hammersmith Hospital in 1993.
Dr Dinah Parums has taught undergraduate and postgraduate students, supervised higher degrees, published in scientific journals and books and done research in cardiovascular and pulmonary pathology and translational research in oncology; she also has a number of scientific patents.
