Dinethra Menon is a freelance health writer with over a decade experience communicating medical education. She completed a Bachelor of Science from the University of Melbourne in 1999, and has a postgraduate diploma in genetic counselling where she focused on psycho-social issues in hereditary cancer. She also lives with hereditary disease. In 2012 she was diagnosed with multiple brain aneurysms that have been surgically clipped. Her mother passed away from aneurysms in 2010 and had previous surgery for aneurysms in 1986. She is dedicated to raising awareness about hereditary disease. Dinethra lives in Sydney with her husband, two active young sons and a cat named Simba.
