Diogo Rossi
Diogo has twelve years of experience working with the financial and environmental markets. He has a passion for project structuring and is a specialist in the agricultural, forestry and carbon markets. For almost ten years he worked in the financial markets, first as trader than as analyst for Sudameris, an European bank based in the US. Back in Brazil, he represented investors in a distressed business acquisition in Sao Paulo where he lead a transformational process in the operations and management of the firm. Later he worked as principal fund manager for a Brazilian Family Office where he was able to invest successfully in strategies that yielded both financial and environmental returns.
Diogo's next move was to join The Nature Conservancy, the largest environmental NGO in the world, with the mission to develop business models that harmonized biodiversity conservation and financial returns. There he was able to work with governments and international cooperation agencies to develop financial tools such as environmental funds, debt for nature swaps and carbon trading mechanisms. He also worked with private corporation in the development and funding of leading green business initiatives.
Before co-founding BRiiX he was working for the State of Parana (the 5th largest in Brazil) on the restructuring process of the State's development bank. This U$600 million initiative aimed at recreating the financial vehicle to foment social and economic growth in the State. The bank is currently waiting for final approval from the Central Bank.
